Zoe Maguire, Integrative Relational Counsellor (MBACP)
Hello, I’m Zoe
I’m a fully qualified Integrative Relational Counsellor working in Wimbledon and South West London as well as online throughout the UK.
I offer a down to earth and thoughtful space, where you can feel supported to explore what’s going on for you and develop the tools and insights needed to navigate difficult times and make choices that feel right for you.
I am experienced in working with individuals on a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low mood, low self-esteem, loss, relationship problems, trauma and other psychological difficulties.
Whatever issues you bring, I offer a confidential and non-stigmatising environment for you to explore.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is integrative and relational, meaning I adapt how we work together to suit you as an individual. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, creating a space where you can feel understood and able to explore what’s going on for you. My work is informed by a range of current approaches, using a blend of humanistic and psychodynamic models.
We begin with where you are now. I take time to get to know you as a whole person, supporting you to move forward with greater awareness, clarity, and self-understanding.
Together, we might explore how your past experiences have shaped who you are today, or focus on ways to manage anxiety, low mood, stress, or the impact of trauma. Often, it’s a combination of both—making sense of your story while also finding ways to feel better in the present.
You might recognise yourself as the “easy-going” one, the “strong” one, or the “funny” one. We often take on roles to feel accepted or to belong, but what about the parts of you that have been pushed aside? With curiosity and compassion, I can support you to explore the parts that may have been rejected, or misunderstood.
You may carry a sense of sadness or loneliness, while also feeling that “nothing bad really happened,” or appear to be coping on the outside while struggling underneath. In our work together, we can begin to explore your patterns and help you to move forward with greater self-compassion.
People often come to therapy feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or lost. I aim to offer a supportive, reflective space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and begin to develop ways of coping that feel right for you.
